I need to take this quest of mine seriously and of course I need help. There is so much we can do to help the environment. Sometimes you think you know to go about doing things, but let me tell you that the actual fact is we do not know how la.
So I have enrolled myself with Eco Warriors, a group on Facebook for like minded people who want to make a difference in the environment. People just like me....ahhhh finally I am actually one of them....so happy and excited. Wohoooo..... wonder if they would give me a badge!!!
Oh this group was created by Matthias Gelber, the greenest man on earth. So at least know I have someone who I can look to, if I ever need advice.
And then maybe I could be in a running to be the next greenest person on earth. Now that is motivation.

Greeniebaby's simple steps

It is amazing for me to have 2 post in a day. I guess this green issue is getting me really fired up.
I walk down the streets I see garbage, and then there are people who still throw rubbish out of the car. Come on!!! Seriously!!
So this I have a short guide that we could follow, since a recent poll showed that we Malaysians do not know what steps to take to live green.
So here it goes:
1. Shopping with reusable bag
2. Separate our garbage according to cans, plastic and paper
3. Use a biodegradable garbage bag
4. Gardening using reusable plastic containers - that is if anyone is into gardening - but it would be good to have a green patch
5. Read more on environmental articles
6. Update on environmental events
7. Share green tips/advise with friends
Only 48% Malaysians live green
Just came across this today, whilst trying to find ways to improve myself and take the steps to live green.
"According to an online poll conducted by iProperty.com recently, 48 per cent of 277 respondents have taken steps to "live green", 42 per cent are aware of green issues but are unsure of the steps to take, and 10 per cent have not taken any steps to adopt a green lifestyle due to lack of awareness."
Hmmm makes me wonder, what is all this green campaigns that we see happening. Yeah it tells you that we have to live green or the company is making the changes to be a green company. But no one tells you what you should do to live green.
I am taking one step at a time......and it is hard as there is no one that can tell u exactly how.

SOS!! Selangor State Park

The Selangor State Park is about 108,300 hectares in size and is the longest stretch of contiguous forest in Selangor. The Park protects Selangor’s share of the Central Forest Spine – or the Main Range. The Park needs your help to ensure its full conservation!
Why does it need our help? Apparently the government intends to build a KL Outer Ring Road which will cut through the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge which sits in the Selangor State Park.
The Klang Gates Quartz Ridge is a world-class geological monument that is internationally recognized for the size, scale and splendor of its quartz dyke - the longest in the world -and, if not disturbed any more, stands every chance to be declared a World Heritage. And this is within the Selangor State Park which is also the vital resources we need to live - fresh air, clean water and so much more.
Now I have hiked up part of the ridge, and the view is breathtaking and the forest is absolutely beautiful. Haven't we damaged Mother Nature enough? On one side the government is saying that we need to we need to save the environment and our natural resources and on the other hand they want to cut down this park for further development.
Give Mother Nature a break, sign the petition on this site: www.petitiononline.com/KLORR/petition.html
